Roll Overview:

Senior Character Artist
We are currently looking for a talented Senior Character Artist who will work with the Lead Rigger to produce high quality realistic characters and likenesses for our projects here at BC.
Exceptional candidates only need apply.
A Senior Character Artist at BC:
Works as a core member of the Character Modelling team to create high quality and detailed assets based on game requirements and technical capabilities of the gaming platform and product scope.
Understands anatomy and proportions in relation to 3D modelling, and has an understanding of skeletal rigging, and mesh deformation.
Takes initiative to learn and adapt to new team practices based on evolving technologies and mentors more junior team members.
Can work and thrive in a multi-discipline work atmosphere, working with or without art direction while under time constraints.
Duties and Responsibilities
Understands mesh topology, edge loops and efficient modelling practices for in-game characters.
Experienced building both high and low poly realistic characters from conceptual drawings and reference.
High levels of technical and artistic competency in Maya, Zbrush and Photoshop.
Ability to UV and texture map both hard surface and organic models.
Experience of character pipelines and maintains a fundamental understanding of UV coordinate space, texturing, and memory budgets.
Promotes a positive work environment through high personal and performance standards.
Qualifications/Education
Art degree preferred
Special Knowledge, Skills
High proficiency using Maya and Zbrush to create detailed characters and likenesses to scale and accuracy.
Proven ability to paint textures to specifications using Photoshop
Experienced in 3D character concepts and development
Prior Experience
2-6+ Years of directly related experience in games
Performed similar role on at least 1 published game title
