Build Engineer
We require a build engineer to maintain and improve various automated, site wide, build systems. This role involves integrating our build process into third party tools, as well developing internal tools, designed to fit custom requirements. Some areas the successful candidate will work on include:
- Improving custom tools that automate the creation of disc images
- Improving continuous integration (TeamCity based) for testing code/data
- Maintaining build farm in collaboration with IT support
- Furthering distributed build facilities
- Debugging problems with the build process
- Furthering unit testing capabilities
The basics requirements a candidate will have:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science/related subject (2.i or higher) or experience in implementing/maintaining build systems for large sized projects (at least 25 developers), preferably over multiple platforms
- Excellent programming/debugging skills in various languages, at the very least C++
- An understanding of build processes/continuous integration software/computer configurations/IT issues
- Knowledge of various SCM tools, ideally: AccuRev/SVN
Other requirements an ideal candidate would have:
- Familiarity with Agile development
- Competent in Python, Bash/Batch scripting, Perl, C#, Java
- Web development/understanding of how programs to talk to each other via FTP/HTTP/SOAP/etc.
- Understanding of client/server based processing as well as distributed development
- GUI programming
